How therapy works…
In today’s world, there is no shortage of information. Self-help books, podcasts, social media, and AI tools can offer insight, education, and even practical strategies. While these resources can be helpful, therapy is fundamentally different.
Therapy is not about access to information—it is about personalized application, accountability, and change within a safe, professional relationship.
In therapy, you are not receiving generic advice. You are working one-on-one with a licensed clinician who is trained to understand patterns beneath the surface, identify what is maintaining distress, and tailor interventions to your specific history, nervous system, values, and goals.
What Makes Therapy Different
Personalization
Therapy adapts in real time. Sessions are guided by your experiences, responses, and progress—not a one-size-fits-all framework.
Professional Assessment
A therapist assesses symptoms, functional impairment, and contributing factors to ensure interventions are appropriate, ethical, and effective.
The Therapeutic Relationship
Research consistently shows that the relationship itself is one of the strongest predictors of change. Therapy provides a confidential, nonjudgmental space to explore thoughts and emotions you may not share elsewhere.
Skill Application, Not Just Insight
Knowing what to do is different from learning how to do it. Therapy focuses on practicing skills, addressing barriers, and applying strategies in your real life.
Accountability and Momentum
Change is more likely when there is structure, follow-through, and collaborative goal setting over time.
What to Expect in Therapy
A collaborative and goal-oriented process
Evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care
Regular review of progress and adjustment of strategies as needed
Practical tools you can use between sessions
A supportive environment that prioritizes autonomy and growth
Therapy is not about being told what to do. It is about gaining clarity, building resilience, and creating meaningful, lasting change—with professional guidance and support tailored specifically to you.
Insurance, Private Pay, and Intensives
I offer flexible payment options, including insurance-based therapy, private pay sessions, and extended therapy intensives.
Insurance
I am in-network with select insurance plans. Coverage, copays, deductibles, and session limits vary by policy. Clients are encouraged to verify mental health benefits directly with their insurance provider prior to beginning services.
Private Pay (Self-Pay)
Private pay therapy is available for clients who prefer not to use insurance or whose plans are out of network. Self-pay offers greater flexibility, privacy, and control over treatment.
Therapy Intensives (Self-Pay Only)
Therapy intensives are extended sessions lasting 2–3 hours, designed for clients seeking focused, in-depth work in a shorter timeframe. Intensives are ideal for addressing specific concerns, breaking through treatment plateaus, or working through complex issues more efficiently.
Intensives are offered on a self-pay basis only.
Payment & Fees
Payment is due at the time of service. Rates, insurance participation, and intensive availability are reviewed prior to scheduling.
“Therapy is not about fixing what’s broken—it’s about strengthening what’s already there.”
